Van Morrison
T.B. Sheets (Original Recording Remastered)

Van Morrison's T.B. Sheets album was released on Bang Records in 1973, which coincided alongside a string of very important Warner Bros. releases, including the legendary Astral Weeks, Moondance, His Band And Street Choir and Tupelo Honey projects.

The origins and details of this album have been exhaustively researched and debated over the years, but one thing remains fact - Brown Eyed Girl is one of the most important treasures of the pop music era, and it is Van Morrison's most requested and popular song on radio, television and film.

Heavily drenched in rock, soul, jazz and blues, the Bang Records sessions were a precursor to his Astral Weeks album. Two of its songs show their first appearance here with classics Madame George and Beside You, as well showcasing a future look into the mind, soul, talent and artistry of the soon to be legend known as Van Morrison.

One listen and it's easy to see how he was already a huge artist in the making. Obviously, his tenure with Them already brought him fame. His very introspective and personal compositions were sometimes like those from ancient scholars, philosophers and theologians, which began to take hold in these early sessions as witnessed in the intense title track T.B. Sheets.

T.B. Sheets is surely a document of the young Van Morrison, who was filled with energy, a pocketful of great songs, and a future that was unstoppable. Friday Music is very proud to include this fine album in our Definitive Remaster Series. Remastered from the original Bang Records tapes, and including the original hit 45 version of Brown Eyed Girl, we think this album stands out as a very important chapter in the life and times of the legendary Van Morrison.
