Todd Rundgren has been a mainstay in popular music for many decades now, and his fan base consistently grows with each and every release or new production that he is associated with. Therefore it is with much pride that we can announce that we are releasing his 1991 masterwork 2nd Wind on Friday Music.
Never the status quo musician or producer, Todd assembled a stellar band with Roger Powell (Utopia) Ross Vallory (Journey), Prairie Prince (Tubes) Vince Welnick (Grateful Dead/Tubes) and others to record ten incredible tunes which have become true Rundgren fan favorites over the years.
With several alternative radio favorites like the rockers Public Servant and Change Myself, 2nd Wind charted and became one of the more innovative albums of his lengthy catalog.
Not only do you hear an amazingly grandiose performance second to none, there are some real crowd pleasers here with the balladry of tunes like Kindness and the tour de force Love In Disguise. Rewind to the past with his shearing guitar riffs on Who's Sorry Now and Gaya's Eyes which are very reminiscent to some of his earlier days with the A Wizard, A True Star and Todd albums. |
