Al Jarreau
Heart's Horizon/The Deluxe Edition
(Original Recording Remastered)

Heart's Horizon was Al Jarreau's eleventh album in a much endured and highly successful discography for Warner Bros. As a superlative follow-up to his huge Moonlighting single and the L Is For Lover album (FRM 25477), Heart's Horizon continues the thematic approach of Al's take on universal love, which is clearly defined in the original twelve tracks that made up this project.

Featuring several key producers like jazz and R&B master George Duke as well as the return of hit maker Jay Graydon, Heart's Horizon stayed on the music charts for the better part of two years culminating with a top ten R&B album and a number one jazz album. Fueled by several hit singles, the album contained the chart topper So Good as well as All Of My Love and All Or Nothing At All. These Jarreau staples have kept this album top of mind with his U. S. and international audience for many years.

An Al Jarreau album is not complete without a who's who of friends collaborating with this American icon. As he stated recently, "A really fine group of artists and musicians were assembled for this album. It really had nice groove to it." For example, his good friend Bobby McFerrin lends his stellar voice to the delightful Yo Jean, Earl Klugh plays his legendary acoustic guitar to the masterful One Way, and producer Phillipe Saisse collaborates his keyboard wizardy with Al's vocal prowess on probably one of the more definitive songs on the album, 10K Hi.

Friday Music is honored once again to continue the Al Jarreau Remaster Series with his classic Heart's Horizon/The Deluxe Edition, impeccably remastered from the original Warner Bros. tapes by Joe Reagoso (Al Jarreau/George Benson/Patti Austin). For this special release, Al has gone back to the tape vaults and has found a treasure trove of bonus tracks like the super rare B-side One Shot, the club mix of All Of My Love and the long version of So Good. Plus we've included the original artwork elements as well as new liner notes to enhance your listening pleasure.

L Is For Lover as Al Jarreau recently described to us is one of those albums that his international audience knows every song, the track order, the lyrics, who played on the album, etc. In other words, this 1986 masterwork is truly a fan favorite.

This Nile Rodgers (David Bowie, Chic, Madonna) produced gem included some very incredibly strong material with hits like Tell Me What I Gotta Do, L Is For Lover and stellar album cuts like Johnathan Butler's Give A Little More Lovin' and Al Jarreau's own Says and the jazz groover Across The Midnight Sky.

You can also see why the fans agree that this is a very special album from Al Jarreau as it includes world class musicians like Nile Rodgers, Steve Ferrone, Anthony Jackson, Hiram Bullock, Lisa Fischer and Phillip Saisse.

Unavailable on compact disc or LP for many years, this amazing recording now boasts four unreleased recordings for the first time on CD, as well as a very cool new interview with the artist included in the extensive liner notes.

This historic concert was recorded in front of thousands at Wembley Arena in November of 1984, as Al Jarreau was celebrating three smash albums in a row, with most of the show leaning heavily on his Breaking Away, Jarreau and High Crime albums.

The musicianship is in top form, with help from folks like Nathan East (Eric Clapton), Steve George and Richard Page (Mr. Mister) as well as the incredible production of Tommy LiPuma. This album truly has the tenacity and vibe of the real live concert setting, as Mr. Jarreau stretches out on classics like We're In This Love Together, Our Love, High Crime and a very hip solo version of the Paul Desmond classic Take Five.
