After being signed by the lengendary Ahmet Ertegun at Atlantic Records and netting a much anticipated album thanks to the magical single Knick Knack Man, Cartoone truly became one of the highlights in the summer of 1969.
The four piece band consisted of lead vocalist/bassist Derek Creigan, Charlie Coffils on drums, lead guitarist Mike Allison, and guitarist Mo Trowers. Creigan's voice is impeccable throughout like those written by more established bands of that era.
Sadly, the album has been out of print for over four decades, as the band more or less faded into obscurity after a nice run up the charts worldwide. As Friday Music continues their sojourn of championing the finest rock music ever made, we scoured the Atlantic vaults and have remastered the definitive version of this long lost classic.
To celebrate even further, Cartoone's Charlie Coffils also located eight rare, unreleased tracks, as well as our Atlantic Records vault find of a rare b-side, which truly makes this the definitive history of this great band's total recorded output.
Complete with a new essay, rare unseen photos, notes and band recollections, original album cover and album label elements. Cartoone is back in a huge way, and Friday Music is proud to be the home of this much loved and highly anticipated re-release. Enjoy! |
