The Byrds
Turn! Turn! Turn! (180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl)

After the enormous success of Mr. Tambourine Man, sold out concerts and massive television appearances, The Byrds developed rather quickly into a very influential band along the lines of The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones. Spearheaded by founding member Roger McGuinn, The Byrds for over a decade continued to be a major recording entity and delivered over a dozen of the finest classic rock albums of our time.

With the turbulent sixties in full bloom, The Byrds (Roger McGuinn, David Crosby, Gene Clark, Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke) embarked on a second LP session with producer Terry Melcher and delivered the classic Turn! Turn! Turn!. With a whole new audience developing from their recent radio and retail exposure, this masterwork hit the upper rungs of the album charts and brought the band continued acclaim. The LP consisted of some of their most memorable songs including the blockbuster #1 single Pete Seeger's Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season). The hit album also treated the fans to some newer Byrds favorites like Gene Clark's brilliant Set You Free This Time and Roger McGuinn's classic It Won't Be Wrong as well as two more Bob Dylan interpretations The Times They Are A-Changin' and Lay Down Your Weary Tune, plus more Byrds originals like the Crosby/McGuinn smash Wait and See.

Featuring the legendary twelve string guitar and vocals of Roger McGuinn, the soulful voice and guitar of David Crosby, the thundering bass and vocals of Chris Hillman, the sorely missed guitar and vocals of the late great Gene Clark and the powerful drumming of the late Michael Clarke, The Byrds' Turn! Turn! Turn! was a global hit album. To this day it is consistently recognized as one of the finest efforts in their deep catalog of hit recordings.

After a huge number of hit singles, top charting albums, concert tours and international television appearances, The Byrds developed into a very influential band along the lines of The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones.
Spearheaded by their founder Roger McGuinn, The Byrds continued to be a major recording entity and delivered over a dozen of the finest classic rock albums in their decade together of making legendary music.

With the close of the turbulent sixties dawning, The Byrds reunited once again with their original producer Terry Melcher (Mr. Tambourine Man/Turn, Turn, Turn) and delivered the classic Ballad Of Easy Rider. With a whole new audience developing from their college concert tours and the beginning of the powerful FM radio coverage, this masterwork hit the top thirty album charts and brought the band continued acclaim. The LP consisted of some of their most memorable songs like the aforementioned hippie anthem Ballad of Easy Rider, which also received tons of exposure thanks to being featured as the title song to the Jack Nicholson/Peter Fonda motion picture Easy Rider. The album also treated the listener to some Byrds favorites like Jesus Is Just Alright, Oil In My Lamp, Fido and a revisit to the Bob Dylan catalog with their hit interpretation of It's All Over Now, Baby Blue.

Featuring the legendary twelve string guitar and lead vocals of Roger McGuinn, the sorely missed lead guitar and vocals of the late great Clarence White, the powerful drum and vocals of Gene Parsons, and the solid bass and vocals of John York, The Byrds' Ballad Of Easy Rider was an all around hit with underground radio, college campuses and traditional radio and retail audiences. The Byrds Greatest Hits (180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl)

In 1964, the nucleus of The Byrds consisted as a folk trio of Jim McGuinn (Roger McGuinn), David Crosby and Gene Clark, known as the Jet Set. As the band grew into an electrified quintet with Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke, they cut their first sessions and were later signed by Columbia Records and put out their first smash album and single with Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man.

Over the next few years, a huge number of hit singles, top charting albums, concert tours and international television appearances developed The Byrds into a very infl uential band along the lines of The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones. Columbia Records knew the importance of this entity and soon honored their favorite sons with their own "best of" album aptly titled The Byrds Greatest Hits.

The eleven song platinum plus album consisted of their biggest chart pop singles like the aforementioned Mr. Tambourine Man, Turn! Turn! Turn!, So You Want To Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star, and All I Really Want To Do. The historic collection also offered some of their finest psychedelic tracks like Eight Miles High, 5D (Fifth Dimension) and Mr. Spaceman.
