Live At B.B. King Blues Club (Original Recording Remastered) [Digi-Pak]

Whenever Jeff Beck performs in a concert setting, it’s always an event. This legendary guitarist can play for thousands one night in a stadium, the next day in a theater, or for this special occasion the intimate B.B. King Blues Club in New York City. This ultra rare recording reunites the Guitar Shop power trio of Jeff Beck(guitars), Terry Bozzio (drums) and Tony Hymas (keyboards). The brilliant guitar shredder and his duo of amazing master musicians truly threw down some of his classiest and hard driving repertoire for this much appreciative New York audience.

The show begins with the funk infused Roy’s Toy from You Had It Coming. The audience is on their feet and grooving to this classic track as he pulls out another modern Jeff Beck classic with the fusion driven Psycho Sam.

As a nod to the Guitar Shop album, the band solidly shreds on the masterful hard rocker Big Block, the dancehall vibe of Savoy and of course the power slide guitar balladry of the haunting Where Were You.

Even more classics abound as Jeff Beck and Co. treat the listener to some of his most requested tunes from Blow By Blow and Wired like the crowd pleaser Freeway Jam, the intense and percussive interplay on Scatterbrain, the jazz classic Goodbye Pork Pie Hat.

The show closes out with a chilling instrumental of The Beatles’ Day In The Life from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which has since become a staple and much requested tune from his fans. A poignant song for this September 10, 2003 occasion, as this full capacity New Yorker audience remembered all too soon the tragic events of 9/11.

Some performers would have a difficult time to follow up after such an emotional and powerful performance, but a righteous new day is coming with Curtis Mayfield’s classic People Get Ready as Jeff Beck reprises this hit single from the early eighties for his delighted fans.

It is with much honor to announce the very limited edition release of Jeff Beck’s Live At B.B. King Blues Club/ The Collector’s Edition. This amazing compact disc was released for a very short time as a online only release and in Japan in 2006. For this wonderful collector’s edition, we have enclosed the original artwork elements, new liner notes, memorabilia from the Japanese issue, and of course stunning new remastering from the original Epic Records tapes, all contained in a beautiful triple fold digi-pak.
